Dans le lit qu'elle fait, il se couche, 2020, Installation of a bed and triptych, acrylic on cotton canvas, 80 x 80 cm each. Exhibition Intersection(s), Galleria Continua,Les Moulins, 2020.
The installation and the paintings Dans le lit qu'elle fait, il se couche, are imagined by the artist around the theme of "intersections" proposed by the Galleria Continua for an exhibition in 2020.
The figure of the bed is used as a place of intersection between two individuals, in order to question the gendered relationship to domestic spaces or, by contrast, to public spaces. Between accumulation of objects, feeling of overflow and consumer products, these works denounce a work of “care”, education, management, cleaning, still too much relayed to women.
Domestic work is presented here as a structural element of our Western family pattern, on which, among other things, capitalism is based.
